On May 3, 2025, Wurzweiler MSW candidates and members of the LGBTQ+ Coalition participated in the BNGAP 2025 LGBT Health Workforce Conference, held at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. The LGBT Health Workforce Conference is the largest and most well known national LGBT health workforce conference in the United States held annually in New York City. 

Cristino Chavez, Frederick Marte, and JessAnn Smith presented a poster titled 鈥�The Importance of Mutual Aid in LGBTQ+ Communal Settings: What Practitioners Can Do to Help it Thrive.鈥� Using social work frameworks, the team encouraged providers to consider the importance of addressing mutual aid at all levels: micro, meso, and macro in healthcare settings.
